Celebrating Our Successes

The-Hunted-Final

This past month has been an exciting one for several of our writers. R.J Eliason (who also writes as Rachel Eliason) has several new books out. She recently released Bear Naked 3: The Hunted, the third book in her Bear Naked Series. She also released the first two episodes of a science fiction serial: The Girl in the Tank (The Galactic Consortium). Eliason’s books are available on Amazon, along with many of her other books.

One of our newer members, (Kurt) Francis Sparks recently signed with Pandamoon Publishing. They are going to publish his crime novel, Made Safe.

Kamerhe Lane secured a hard earned spot in the national contest, Pitch Wars. Pitch Wars is difficult to get into. The authors who are selected go through two months of grueling edits and rewrites to get ready for the agent round. During the agent round, agents see the contestants’ query letters and the beginning of their manuscripts. A grand total of 15 agents requested a full manuscript from Kamerhe. Several more agents requested partial manuscripts. We are all keeping our fingers crossed, hoping Kamerhe will find her dream agent.

There are other successes that we celebrate too. At least five of our members are tackling their first novels. It’s inspiring to be a part of that process and to see their novels take shape. Countless people dream of writing a novel, but to actually write the words and to see that novel through from beginning to end takes commitment, determination, and plenty of sweat and tears. All of our first time novelists are so dedicated.

It’s so exciting to see our authors’ successes. We are all in various stages of our writing journey. Some are just starting out and some have been writing seriously for almost a decade. Some of our writers have gone the indie route while others are pursuing traditional publishing. The one constant in our group is the support and encouragement we give to each other. We celebrate each other’s successes and we’re there for each other through the bumps in the road and the rejections.
